Welcome to Country, a First Nations led and operated social enterprise featuring a not-for-profit marketplace for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander experiences and products, is proud to announce that Medika Thorpe has joined its board of directors.

Medika Thorpe is a proud Gunnai, Gunditjmara and Gooreng Gooreng woman, with a wealth of experience in the media and creative arts. Medika’s experience in various roles spanning across her career within media, community health and the creative arts has helped her build rapport to advocate and empower the communities she serves and supports.

Welcome to Country announces appointment of Chief Executive Officer Heading

Welcome to Country, the not-for-profit marketplace for First Nations experiences and products, is delighted to announce the appointment of its new CEO, Gurindji/Ngalakan man Desmond Campbell.

Welcome to Country Chairman Troy Rugless said Desmond was chosen after an extensive and competitive selection process. “Desmond is an excellent cultural fit for Welcome to Country. His passion and vision will lead us into the future as a thriving social enterprise” he said. “The Board, of which a majority of Directors are Aboriginal, myself as Chair included, look forward to working with Desmond over the coming years.”

Welcome to Country announces appointment of first Indigenous Chair Heading

Following on from a year of strong growth in 2021 Welcome to Country, Australia’s first not for profit marketplace offering over 200 First Nations experiences and over 1000 products, continues to evolve, enjoying a year of company firsts.

The Welcome to Country team is delighted to announce the appointment of Troy Rugless as its first Indigenous Chairman. Welcome to Country has also confirmed the appointment of Paul Ah Chee Ngala
