Welcome to Country, a First Nations led and operated social enterprise featuring a not-for-profit marketplace for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander experiences and products, is proud to announce that Medika Thorpe has joined its board of directors.
Medika Thorpe is a proud Gunnai, Gunditjmara and Gooreng Gooreng woman, with a wealth of experience in the media and creative arts. Medika’s experience in various roles spanning across her career within media, community health and the creative arts has helped her build rapport to advocate and empower the communities she serves and supports.
As a member of the Board of Directors, Medika will bring her expertise in media and the creative arts, as well as her strong cultural knowledge to the table. She will help guide Welcome to Country’s vision for prosperous First Nations communities, delivering on its purpose to support greater economic independence of First Nations entrepreneurs and will play a key role in the organisation’s media and communications strategies.
