Torres Strait Islanders cultivated bananas for thousands of years, archaeologist proves

A great article by the Sydney Morning Herald about an excellent campaign. The Indigenous Art Code’s new campaign to encourage consumers to engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists and buy their work. Called ‘Our Art is Our Lifeline’, it is designed to help spread awareness about the many artists adversely impacted by COVID-19. A timely reminder that when you buy an Indigenous artwork, you are not only helping the individual artist but their families and their communities.
